Artist's Statement

As far back as I can remember I have had a deep passion for the fine arts. I particularly love drawing and painting the human form. My greatest artistic influence is found in the book of Genesis. To me God was, and is, the master artist, sculptor, designer, architect, and creator. In a word, God is creativity. So God created man in his image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27, KJV). And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7, KJV). These two scripture passages are the foundation of my ministry.
My artwork is more than just blending colors together. It is more than just understanding bone structure, muscle tone and facial expression. My artwork is about creating life. Like the Creator, it is about taking a blank canvas and breathing life onto and into it. Most importantly, it is about reaching out and touching the souls of those viewing it. As I see it, my artwork is a conduit. Through it, there is a connection between the viewers and the Creator.
